Buried treasures

Yesterday, I went to a gently used book store. Its one of these places were old furniture display and cradle treasures. I searched the shelves, I found the sex section and knew I was home. I’m planning to write about the sexual revolution of the 1960s. Sadly, I wasn’t old enough to enjoy this period myself. So I have to learn about it third hand.

I bought Helen Gurley Brown’s (1962) best seller Sex and the Single Girl and Gael Greene’s (1964) Sex and the College Girl. Next time I want to find Valley of the Dolls. I also vaguely recall someone mentioning a book that I think was called Madam X. Do you know the book I’m referring too. Is that the correct title?

Your help is greatly appreciated. What are your favourite books from this time period? What books would you recommend I read?

Thanks, Grace
