No Wasted Words

When you sit down to write you should be working on your book, I told myself.

Due to this attitude, I felt guilty when I wrote on twitter or on this blog. I felt like I was slackening off.

I held fast to this believe up until today, that is.

I don’t feel like this any more, I’ve had an attitude shift. How? Why?

It was all due to two articles — one in a magazine, the other in a book. These articles encouraged me to play with words. By playing with words, I’ve learned, I’ll loosen up and allow the writing to flow.

Wise words, I’m listening. Now I know the only wasted words are the ones my pen doesn’t catch.
