Feeling somewhat vindicated I began to pack.
Poor old me, some rich bastard comes along, waves some cash in my face, and I’m his. He can treat me any way he wants to for a few lousy bucks.
Oh, yeah, he knew hos to show off. He showered me with wine and roses. Whisked me off on romantic boat cruises. He took me to gallery openings, the opera, and the theatre. He even bought me expensive jewellery — like pearl earrings and a gold necklace — but he never bought me a wedding ring.
